Today's Lesson

Daisy chaining is a process of connected multiple loudspeakers together in series. Today we'll discuss how to daisy chain K.2 loudspeakers together.

Underneath each input on the back panel is a direct parallel or Thru output, which will carry signal coming into the loudspeaker from the corresponding input. The signal is carried through the loudspeaker, hence the term Thru output. So if we have a signal connected to input B and we want to send that signal THROUGH to another loudspeaker, all we have to do is connect the through output underneath input B to our receiving loudspeaker. Now we can dial up the gain on that loudspeaker to whatever level is appropriate.

The mix output is a post-gain output that combines all of the inputs into one signal. This accomplishes two things.

  1. If you have multiple inputs connected and want to sum them together to send to another loudspeaker or location, the mix out does this for you.
  2. The output is post gain, meaning the gain settings on the sending loudspeaker will translate into the receiving loudspeaker. So, again you’ll need to set the gain appropriately on the receiving loudspeaker and be aware that any gain changes made on the sending loudspeaker will affect the receiving loudspeaker.
